Litu100 is a new online magazine that provides a diverse and unique perspective on the world. We think that everyone should have an opportunity to participate in and experience art and culture, which is why we’ve made it our mission to make this content accessible for all readers, regardless of age or socio-economic background. In addition to excellent articles from contributors from all over the world, Lu'Umi will provide helpful resources such as teaching materials for educators and parents, recommended books for children with various learning styles, blogs devoted exclusively to art appreciation or parenting. The goal of this site is to create a community which values free expression both in its text and design. To do this we need your support. Please spread the word about this site to your friends, family, teachers, librarians...everyone! The more people who join us, the more diverse content we will be able to produce. Thank you for your help. Litu100 welcomes all contributors regardless of their race/ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), gender, sexual orientation or level of ability. We do not discriminate on the basis of any of these factors. Our mascot is Lu'Umi (pronounced /loo-mommy/), a small alien from outer space who needs all the love she can get! The front page contains the following elements: The Home section contains information about anything Lu'Umi wants to share with you. It includes things like fun facts, quizzes, and "Ask Lu'Umi" where you can ask her questions about her life in outer space. The Culture section is an opportunity for you to explore all kinds of art from around the world! You'll meet artists, writers, musicians, dancers, photographers, etc. who will tell you about cultural events in their area. The Resources section includes links to other sites that we think are cool and will be helpful for your learning experience. The Classroom section is a place where you can read articles about various subjects from education, math, science, etc. This content will be geared towards classroom curriculum and will serve as a supplement to the related lesson. The Parenting section is a place where parents can find fun and creative ways to connect with their children. Our goal for this section is to inform parents of the positive effects that art has on their child's learning style and help them with art projects. The News section contains articles from various sources on different world events as well as recommendations about what you should be reading if topics like politics or religion are of particularly interest to you. The Quizzes section provides users with multiple choice questions about different topics. You can take the quizzes on the front page or navigate to the News, Culture, Resources or Classroom sections to access multiple choice questions about their content. The People section features a gallery of "people who have inspired Lu'Umi" - famous people from world history and popular culture. This section is a great way to see a selection of famous people who have been influenced by art and culture. You can also access other sections through categories such as World Events, Sports & Leisure, Photography, Mathematics & Science, Education, etc...
